Our focus is to improve ophthalmic and allied medical
sciences and education in West Bengal.
The Trust's focus is on the advancement of ophthalmic and
allied medical sciences, improvement of medical education and
public health from ophthalmic point of view.
The Trust focuses on undertaking of community ophthalmological
work, and the advancement of any other object of general
public utility not involving the carrying on or any activity
for profit.

Improve Medical Knowledge
To improve medical knowledge, exchange scientific
information and improve professional skills.
Lectures and Discussions
To arrange clinical lectures, discussions and demonstrations
on any or various aspects of ophthalmic and allied medical
sciences.
Research
To promote, encourage and assist research in ophthalmic and
allied medical sciences.
Public Education
To conduct educative campaigns among the general public
concerning public health relating to ophthalmic problems if
necessary in co-operation with different public bodies
working with the same objectives in view.
Scientific Communications
To publish, distribute, exchange or otherwise circulate
records, transactions, journals and proceedings of various
meetings and conferences in accordance with the direction of
the Settlor Society or otherwise for the benefit of the
members of the medical profession and / or the public in
general.
Community Ophthalmology
To organise, arrange and / or undertake community
ophthalmological work for creating awareness among the
people for the prevention of eye disease, taking of eye care
and for treatment of eye diseases with a view to provide
short term as well as long term relief to the people.
Eye Camps
To organise and arrange mobile and / or stationery eye
treatment and eye operation camps to be conducted by team of
ophthalmologist members of the Trust Society at different
places in urban and rural areas.
Free Treatment
To establish, create and maintain free beds for treatment in
such hospitals and in such manner as may be prescribed by
the Settlor Society.
Build
To acquire by purchase or otherwise, lands , buildings,
construct, reconstruct, remodel buildings and / or take on
lease or rent any premises as may be suitable for ophthalmic
research, eye – clinic, eye- bank and the like for the
purposes conforming to the objectives of the Trust and the
Settlor Society.
Relief
To organise, start, maintain and / or assist by providing
medical service or otherwise any relief measures in areas
which are or become subjected to natural calamities such as
flood, fire, famine, draught, cyclone, earthquake, accident,
epidemic and the like and / or to give donations,
subscriptions or contributions to institutions,
establishments, centres or persons doing relief work on such
occasions.
Scholarships and Stipends
To grant, pay or give full or partial Scholarship, Stipends,
Prizes, Rewards, Travel- grants and other financial
assistance to students pursuing post- graduate courses in
ophthalmology, scientific research in ophthalmic science or
allied branches in India or abroad.
Assistance and Promotion
In building libraries, audio-visual centres, training
institutions, seminar halls, and other activities.
